Big Giving Week: Sponsor needy children in Manila

Children of the Dump is a prominent UK-based children’s charity which offers people a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by sponsoring a child’s education in the Philippines. Their mission revolves around delivering essential family support and compassionate care to underprivileged children living in dire conditions near the Payatas and San Isidro rubbish dumps in Manila.

It is Big Giving Week until Tuesday, 5th December and every donation you give to Children of the Dump will be doubled at no extra cost to donors. When the public donates to a charity through a Big Give campaign, funders (philanthropists, foundations or corporations) will match that donation.

So £50 from a member of the public, becomes £100 for a good cause. You can donate by clicking here.

Donations to the charity provide scavenger children with a range of support to help them achieve their potential through education.

  • A free school for 4-6 year olds, giving them the head start necessary to succeed in main stream education.
  • A scholarship scheme for ages 6-25 to maintain them in education instead of dropping out to work as scavengers including a Saturday school with food.
  • A residential home for children with nowhere safe to live where they are nurtured, loved and educated.

Children of the Dump is dedicated to enhancing the lives of approximately 300 children through various comprehensive initiatives. Their efforts extend to those who have faced neglect, abuse, and even abandonment. Since they were formed in 1975, Children of The Dump, in collaboration with their esteemed Filipino charity partner ASCF, has been tirelessly working to break the cycle of poverty by providing access to quality education for these young children.
