Meet our Philippines-based online student interns Tinig UK

Meet our Philippines-based online student interns

We are delighted to welcome two energetic interns studying business administration at Panpacific University in the north Philippines. Thanks to Interns Online who made the internship possible, the students will be helping us strengthen our marketing efforts to make Tinig UK a sustainable social enteprise.

Final year business administration students (left) Shiela Supetran and (right) Kimberly Hernandez have been supporting Tinig UK’s marketing efforts as online interns.

Kimberly Hernandez is in her final year as a marketing management student. She lives in Pangasinan with her family. She says that her great passion as a marketing student is coming up with strategies to promote services and products. She enjoys cooking, baking cakes and cookies, painting, photography and travelling.

Shiela Mae Supetran is a final-year student majoring in financial management. She works part-time as a graphic designer to support her studies. The second of two children, Shiela says she enjoys attending in-person and online learning sessions to enhance her skill and knowledge in her field. When not busy with her studies or part-time work, she enjoys playing volleyball with friends.

“As an intern, I really enjoy being a part of Tinig UK because I’m appreciated for my contributions and this role provides me with ample opportunities to learn more advanced marketing skills and to grow professionally,” Kim says.

For Shiela, “My expectation before I started as an intern was for me to gain more knowledge and experience in the area of business administration. But Tinig UK surpassed my expectation as they not only helped me gain experience in market research but also allowed me to get insights into the lives of Filipinos in the UK. I was impressed to know how our ‘kababayans’ in the UK continue our culture through food and traditions.”

Kim is responsible for managing our social media calendar, creating posters for our social channels and other tasks related to administration. Meanwhile, Shiela has been learning about Filipino businesses in the UK and has been helping us promote our marketing offers to them.

Thank you, Kim and Shiela, for all your efforts in helping us grow as a nonprofit business!
