“Be wise with money and live simply. For those in relationships, remember: marriage is not only about ‘I do,’ but continuing to choose each other through life’s challenges.” – Nora Tsourous

Please describe your current role/work.

I work as a protection adviser, helping individuals and families plan for life’s uncertainties. What fulfills me most is the human connection, listening to people’s stories, understanding their concerns, and guiding them with care and honesty. Many clients feel like family. My role is about building trust and helping people feel supported and protected.

What is the maxim you live by?

“Protect as a mother, advise with the precision of an expert.” I believe the best advice comes from empathy and responsibility. I care for my clients as I would my own family while ensuring my guidance is thoughtful and professional. When people feel genuinely cared for, trust grows and meaningful relationships follow.

Tell us the biggest challenge that you faced and how you overcame it.

A little over a year ago has been the most challenging season of my life. In 2024, I lost two siblings and my husband. Even while grieving and arranging my husband’s burial back home, I remained accessible to support clients making claims as one was diagnosed with cancer and another whose child was also diagnosed with cancer.

Walking through these moments reminded me how important protection and support are during life’s hardest times. I have not overcome these losses and likely never will, but my experiences with life’s uncertainties continue to deepen my empathy and strengthen my commitment to guide families with compassion and understanding.

What is the one achievement that you are most proud of and why?

One achievement I am most proud of is the meaningful connection I have built with the people I have served during my time working in banking and now as a protection adviser. These roles are not just about financial products; they are about trust, empathy and guiding people through important life decisions.

I take pride in being able to simplify complex financial matters and provide personalised advice that truly responds to each client’s needs. Whether helping someone resolve banking concerns, supporting a client through the claims process, or assisting families on their journey to purchasing their first home in the UK, I value knowing that I have played a part in bringing clarity and reassurance during the important moments in their lives.

For me, the greatest achievement is not measured by numbers, but by the trust clients place in me and the difference I can make in helping them feel more secure about their future.

What would be your advice to young Filipino girls of today?

As a wife and mother who came to this country seeking a better life, I’ve learned nothing comes easy. Success requires hard work and perseverance. Be wise with money and live simply. For those in relationships, remember: marriage is not only about ‘I do,’ but continuing to choose each other through life’s challenges.
