The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has issued new guidelines for overseas voters to update their addresses, according to the Philippine Embassy in London. Registered voters who need to update their addresses have only until 1 April to comply with the new requirements.
At 5:30 pm on 24 March, the Philippine Embassy sent an email to registered voters requesting to update their address that they are now being required to submit the following documents via email:
- A copy of their valid Philippine passport
- A copy of a document showing proof of address (utility bill, UK driver’s licence, credit card or bank statement)
- Duly accomplished OVF-1 form to apply for change of address (within the same post and country)
Registered voters are also being requested to include the following information in the body of the email:
- Name of registered overseas voter
- Valid Philippine passport number
- Date of issue
- Type of document submitted as proof of address
- Updated address
Voters who need to update their address should email the said requirements to londonpe.voting@gmail.com by 1 April.
Those who provided their new address before 24 March will still have to comply with the new guidelines, otherwise their ballot may still be sent to their old address.
