Support non-profit, community journalism for Filipinos in the UK. For just £1 a month.

Did you know that Tinig UK is a not-for-profit social enterprise? We are an independent media organisation working to serve the interests of the Filipino community in the UK. We exist to raise the profile of Filipinos and to explore issues that affect us which are often ignored by the mainstream media.
Did you know that we supported Filipino nurses in advocating for a separate ‘Filipino’ category in the NHS? Filipino staff in the NHS have now been given their own ethnic category – this means that the estimated 40,000 Filipinos working for the NHS can now identify themselves as Filipinos.

With your contribution, we can tackle more issues - as well as their solutions - that matter to the Filipino community in the months and years ahead.

With your contribution, we can work better to promote Philippine arts, culture and history across the UK.

Our impact

  • We worked closely with Filipino nurses in advocating for a ‘Filipino’ ethnic category in the NHS through our independent research.
  • We were the only UK-based Filipino media outfit to write about the historic inclusion of the ‘Filipino’ category in the NHS on 18 January 2022. We had an exclusive interview with Prof. Anton Emmanuel, head of the NHS Workforce Race and Equality Standard (WRES), looking at the importance of this effort.
  • Our articles have been cited by Filipino managers working for the NHS, academics and the mainstream media in the UK, evidence that our research is being used by key stakeholders.
