To mark International Women’s Month, we are focusing on domestic abuse, considered a crime in the UK. We have two infographics to help you spot it and how you can get help.
Do you feel that something doesn’t feel right in your relationship? Do you feel your behaviour has changed because of the way your partner treats you or your children? It is not easy to know whether your experiences or those of someone you love, qualify as abuse. For women – and men – who have experienced domestic abuse, you can get on a course called the Freedom Programme to help you make sense of and understand what you have been through. The programme also describes in detail how children are affected by being exposed to this kind of abuse and very importantly how their lives are improved when the abuse is removed.
